ALASKA/YUKON TRAILS SHUTTLE:

Alaska/Yukon Trails serves Anchorage, Talkeetna, Denali, and Fairbanks. They also serve Whitehorse and Dawson City, Canada. They have been in business for a long time and are reliable.

They operate daily from April 20 to September 30, 2019. With Alaska/Yukon you travel in a smaller bus or passenger van with a trailer. IF YOU WILL BE DRIVING:

Traveling North from Anchorage or Talkeetna:

After leaving Anchorage, take Highway 3 (George Parks Highway) toward Wasilla, Denali and Fairbanks. This is about 30 minutes out of Anchorage and there are a lot of signs- it's hard to miss.

Anchorage is located at Mile 0. We are located at Mile 224.1 of the Parks Highway. You will find us 14 miles north of the small town of Cantwell.

As you approach Milepost 224, be sure to slow down. The turn into our driveway is VERY SHARP!

You will see the Carlo Creek Bridge (there's a sign) and our driveway is located just beyond that bridge on your left. Look for orange traffic cones and a very tall black mailbox with HOSTEL painted on it in white letters. It is about 100 yards beyond the bridge.

Please don't try to come down the pedestrian trail, which is immediately past the bridge.

Be careful of traffic, especially behind you. Remember, you are still in a 65 MPH speed zone where passing is allowed!

Our office is the first building you will see adjacent to the parking lot.

The trip from Anchorage can take anywhere from 4 to 5 hours, depending on RV traffic and road construction. Don't forget - check-in is not until 4:00 PM and the office may be temporarily closed during shuttle runs.

If you arrive too early you could continue on to the park and pick up your shuttle bus tickets or check out the entrance area sights and trails. If you are just a little early, there is coffee, food, and beer or wine available across the highway at McKinley Creekside Cafe.

Traveling South from Fairbanks:

Fairbanks is located approximately at Mile 355 oh Highway 3 (George Parks Highway). We are located at Mile 224.1.

You will drive past the entrance to the National Park at Mile 238. We are another 14 miles down the highway.

When you come to Milepost 225 start to slow down- you are just under a mile from our driveway which is coming up on your right. The turn into our driveway is VERY SHARP!

Look for orange traffic cones and a very tall black mailbox with HOSTEL painted on it in white letters. We are located just before the Carlo Creek Bridge.

Be careful of traffic, especially behind you. Remember, you are still in a 65 MPH speed zone where passing is allowed!

Our office is the first building you will see adjacent to the parking lot.

We are about a two-and-a-half-hour drive (130 miles) south of Fairbanks on Alaska Highway 3. Traffic is usually much less of a problem coming from Fairbanks but you may still find road construction on the way. Please remember, check-in is not until 4 PM and the office may be temporarily closed during shuttle runs.

If you arrive too early you could plan to stop at the park and pick up your shuttle bus tickets or check out the park entrance area. If you are just a little early, there is coffee, food, and beer or wine available across the highway at McKinley Creekside Cafe.

RENTAL CARS:

Most people who want to have a car here (although it is not really necessary) rent one in Anchorage or Fairbanks. But if you find yourself in Denali and wishing you had a car you are NOT out of luck. Click Here for more information. For another option, Click Here.
