This provider offers two different kinds of guided hikes! The Guided Walking Tour is more relaxed and mellow, while the Guided Interpretive Hike will be for the more adventurous hiker. Read on for a full description of both! In either case, their guides are among the most experienced in Alaska. Each guide has a minimum of four years experience. Combined they have guided throughout Alaska and spent decades hiking and climbing in the Alaska Range. They have climbed Denali and traversed the entire Alaska Range on foot.
Take an interpretive, guided walk in the Denali area with a professional naturalist guide who will point out the landmarks and tell stories of Denali’s human and natural history. Walk with a small group (6 guest maximum) through boreal forests and discover how plants and animals have adapted to the extreme subarctic environment. Walking is an alternative to motorized tours. Stretch your legs to follow the footsteps of animals, and gain a new appreciation for this far north landscape. The tours are narrated by experienced guides who share their knowledge and love of Alaska. This tour involves more than two and a half hours of walking in a wilderness setting over uneven and unlevel trails. No food is provided on this tour, and guests should bring their own snacks and water. Bring appropriate clothing for changeable weather, including cool temperatures and rain. Tour provider can provide rain gear if necessary.

Tours may be operated inside or just outside of Denali National Park. Minimum age is 8. Wear hiking attire and comfortable walking shoes. Bring water, rain gear, a hat, a camera, and insect repellant. Don't forget your binoculars! Some trails used on this tour are unimproved , and may have tree roots, mud, rock and other natural obstacles to avoid. Walking portion of tour is approximately 3 hours. Distances vary by group and trail. This tour cannot accommodate any person over 300 lbs.

This tour is for the more fit travelers. It involves four and a half hours of walking over greatly variable terrain. While still a narrated tour, the interpretive hike covers more ground than a walk and explores the glacier topography in depth, sometimes going off-trail. It is the best way to feel and smell the wilderness that travelers come to see in Alaska. This tour gives our small groups (6 guest maximum) a chance to see the forested area near the Nenana River, and a greater variety of wildlife habitat and vegetation. No food is provided on this tour, and guests should bring their own snacks and water. Guests should bring food, if needed. Bring appropriate clothing for changeable weather, including cool temperatures and rain. Tour provider can provide rain gear if necessary.
Just over 5 hours. Hike times can vary- please allow up to 6 hours for this tour.
Must be in good physical condition. Trails may be unimproved, and have natural obstacles such as brush, mud, rock and tree roots to avoid. Off trail walking in the tundra is spongy and sometimes wet. Tour operates rain or shine, but may be cancelled by the operator in the event of extremely bad weather or unsuitable conditions. Changes in weather during this tour may expose travelers to periods of cold and wet conditions. Wear layers, sunscreen, hats and sunglasses. You may bring a backpack with water and snacks. Don't forget your camera, and bring binoculars if you have them! Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. Distances vary by group and trail. This tour cannot accommodate any person over 300 lbs.

Cancellations must be made no less than 72 hours in advance to receive a full refund. Less than that and there is no refund. In addition, Denali Mountain Morning charges $10 on all customer-initiated changes and cancellations.
