Packrafts are lightweight and stable boats you can carry easily. They allow for rapid wilderness travel, and are really fun to paddle. Hike through the wilderness to a stunning mountain stream and float by the majestic peaks of the Alaska Range on this all day tour. This trip is a great opportunity to have intimate contact with nature and learn more about this subarctic landscape. Alaska is the home of packrafting, and our rivers are perfect for it. Interpretive, Instructional, and Fun! You will be provided with all the equipment.

Difficulty level:

Strenuous. This trip involves hours of physical activity, walking and paddling in a wilderness setting. A moderate fitness level is required, and the strength to move oneself across the water for multiple hours is an absolute minimum. These wilderness trips are sometimes far from any road. We are there to help and guide as well as interpret the surroundings, but this long trip is powered by the traveler alone. As with all our trips, enjoyment is the ultimate goal. Minimum age is 12 and maximum age is 70.

Experience needed:

Pack Rafting experience is not necessary but some paddling experience is helpful.

Special Notes:

Participants must be in good physical condition as this tour involves hours of physical activity, walking and paddling in a wilderness setting. Trails are unimproved, and have natural obstacles such as brush, mud, rock and tree roots to avoid. Walking portions of the tour can vary from one mile to six or more depending on travelers experience. Maximum height is 6'9". Maximum weight is 260 lbs. Tour is not suitable for pregnant women. Guests with back, neck, heart or mobility problems are not allowed to participate. Snacks are provided throughout the trip. It is recommended that participants eat well beforehand, and bring along whatever food and drink they need other than snacks. Tour operates rain or shine, but may be cancelled by the operator in the event of extremely bad weather or unsuitable conditions. Tour operates subject to meeting a minimum number of participants. All participants may be required to perform a swim and paddle test.


Standard Trip - $375 per person ages 12 and up. (There is a minimum of two people per trip and maximum number of four per trip)

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations must be made no less than 72 hours in advance to receive a full refund. Less than that and there is no refund. In addition, Denali Mountain Morning Hostel charges $10 on all customer-initiated changes and cancellations.
